Advantages :
- Resolution Independent :

- Small File Sizes :
- As they have small file sizes this allows them to load quickly.
Disadvantages :
- Lower color quality than raster images.they do not support as many colors.
- Not good for photographic images.
What is Raster?
- a raster graphics image representing generally rectangular grid of pixels, viewable via a monitor, paper, or other display medium.
- A raster is technically characterized by the width and height of the image in pixels and by the number of bits per pixel
- Most computer images are stored in raster graphics formats or compressed variations, including GIF, JPEG, and PNG, which are popular on the World Wide Web.
- Lose the image quality when enlarging.
